Use of Chequewriters

The chequewriters, that financial institutions and some issuers use to protect against alteration of cheque amounts, print characters that are not suitable for image processing. For cheque image processing systems, the chequewriter ringgit amounts must be duplicated in an image readable form in the amount field. For this purpose, a printer or typewriter may be used to print the ringgit value. Alternatively, the ringgit amount can be handwritten in the amount field.
